Creative Campaign

Starting tomorrow I will be moving desks. I got promoted from Digital Media Designer to Creative Campaign Artist. I will still be doing digital ads but at a greater scale with more creativity.

I will miss my desk buddy Derek. We have been good friends since high school and we have been working together for about 3 years and we finally got to sit next to each other when Gannett moved from the old Des Moines Register building to Capitol Square a year ago. We are still working on our book on weekends though.

I am excited to start my new position. I feel I will have some strong portfolio pieces coming soon!

Guy In A Dinosaur Costume

My work held a design contest for our softball team "Guy In A Dinosaur Costume". My friend Derek Mit sketched the guy and I took it and designed it up. There was a 2 color limit so I did white and neon green. We didn't win :(

Adobe Audition Training

Now I know how to edit sound. The coolest part about Audition is the spot healing brush tool, which lets you paint over unwanted sounds from your recording and it will blend it out.

This week at work I learned the basics of Adobe After Effects. Next up is Adobe Audition and Premiere. This is the first course that I have fully completed on Lynda.com. I hope I can get some projects soon to practice and then I might have to upgrade so I can play with these programs at home.
