I built this site at the beginning of the year for a local home inspector. It’s a new business that already had a logo, business cards and flyers so I built out the brand a little more with the website, social media, and a photo shoot with the owner inspecting my house.

For a recent campaign at work I designed a logo for an Open House Weekend that will be used on print, digital, landing page, HTML5 ads, and an email blast. Me and my partner Katie were inspired by some design styles from the Portland, Oregon area that this is for. We used some evergreen trees, birds, woodgrain and some unique filters on the photography. Check out the animated ad at the link below!
Last month I helped my friends at RXA Technology with their event called Base 3. I designed the logo and icons for their site. Check it out and you can read more in the press release below.

Launch Week, a week full of entrepreneurship events in the Siouxland area, will take place between September 30Day hosted by Sioux City Go on September 30. Coworking will follow and Wire Me Awake will be the final event taking place on Wednesday and Thursday.
Springboard Coworking is located on the 2nd floor of the Stifel Nicolaus building at 700 4th Street. The workspace has 11 desks spread over 1,466 sq. feet. Each desk is available for rent on a monthly or contract basis. Each full-time desk is outfitted with a chair and a two-drawer filing cabinet that locks. RXA Technology and Springboard Coworking are teaming up to put on the Base 3 event with hopes to ignite the startup community in Sioux City. Sean Richardson, the co-founder of RXA says, “The startup movement in Sioux City is really starting to pick up. Organizations such as Creative Fire, Sioux City Chamber, Sioux City Go, and the City of Sioux City are at the forefront of this movement. There are many entrepreneurial events in Siouxland, such as Swimming with the Sharks, Biz Brew, Innovation Market and Wire Me Awake, but I can see many more popping up.”
Co Founder of RXA Technology and junior at Morningside College Blake Anderson added, “Sioux City has been such a giving community. Being from California and not from the area, I have been blessed to meet great supportive people. A strong entrepreneurial community is beginning to form in Sioux City. I am proud to say I am a part of this movement.”
Last weekend I helped create a startup called SpotVendr at Startup Weekend Ames. It was a great competition and we ended up getting 3rd place. I only slept 10 hours all weekend. I also made some new friends on my team. You can see us below. I created the logo and animation that our team used in our presentation. Now that the weekend is over our team has continued on with the project. Please check out the website and sign up to be notified when our product is ready.

This is my redesign of the Kings of BBQ logo for 2013. I was the designer last year and they decided to do it annually every September. I designed the site as well. Check it out and let me know what you think. mallbbq.com
This year my biggest project was Tipsy Tees. Amy Chapin stumbled across my site last year and came to me with her business idea. First off, I made a logo. It took awhile to get the right font. We went through a lot of different versions and eventually came to this.
She had loads of shirt ideas, so I started drawing. We got to about 30 shirts and then it was time to order the transfers and shirts. She did all the printing in her home and built up her inventory a little.
Meanwhile, I started to design the website. She chose Big Cartel as the store management system and I started with the theme she chose. It took a couple months to get everything figured out, but we got there.
Here is one of my favorite illustrations from the holiday site update.
I hope you enjoyed the breakdown. Please go check out the site to see all of our shirt designs.
