The last 2 weekends I had a 4 day weekend and then a 3 day weekend. Still posting some photos from Ryker's birthday party and Zoo trip and our trip to the fair. But now it's back to normal work hours with some overtime.

Ryker turns 1 in a week!
I had a great time with my family last weekend. While my wife planned my son's first birthday party I got to play with him all weekend.

Vintage Wine Ad Campaign
This ad campaign was proposed to Vintage Wine in West Des Moines. It was created with the GIADC Creative Campaign team by me, Krista Kent and led by Brian Tallman. We developed multiple logo concepts and presented 2 options.

Career Opportunities: Digital Graphic Designer (Des Moines)
I believe I have helped all of my jobless design friends get jobs with me at Gannett, but just in case I missed you there are more openings. Also, they used my photo of the Capital Square building in the Craigslist post.
Happy 4th of July
I had a good 4 day weekend and watched fireworks with the family. My son Ryker loved his first fireworks!
Grand Ledge Ford Ad Campaign
This is a campaign that I worked on with the GIADC Creative Campaign team. The creative was developed by me and Kris Ahrens and led by Brian Tallman. I created the animated ads and Kris made the print ads.
Tree of Children
My wife is a preschool teacher and wanted a way to remember all the kids every year. I drew this tree and she had all her kids put their thumbprints as leaves in the tree. She plans to use a different shade of green with every new class.

Saturday Night in Des Moines
Went to my friend's joint birthday party after the Des Moines Art Festival and watched the fireworks. The resulting smoke clouds made the 801 Grand building look pretty sweet.
Grow Up
Creative Campaign
Starting tomorrow I will be moving desks. I got promoted from Digital Media Designer to Creative Campaign Artist. I will still be doing digital ads but at a greater scale with more creativity.
I will miss my desk buddy Derek. We have been good friends since high school and we have been working together for about 3 years and we finally got to sit next to each other when Gannett moved from the old Des Moines Register building to Capitol Square a year ago. We are still working on our book on weekends though.
I am excited to start my new position. I feel I will have some strong portfolio pieces coming soon!
